Breast Cancer

CTE Gives Back! - December 2019

US Breast cancer statistics are alarming – About 12% - or 1 in 8 US women - will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.  In 2019 alone, an estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer have been diagnosed along with 62,930 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer.

Attacking more than the individual, breast cancer reaches the hearts of parents, children, siblings, extended family and friends.  So it is no wonder that Cable Tie Express has received multiple requests from its family of customers, suppliers, and employees for assistance with various organizations dealing with this disease.  Through the CTE Gives Back program, we are happy to support three organizations that help with women and their families dealing with breast cancer to not only survive but also to thrive during the days of battle and beyond.

Kicking off the list is the Megan S. Ott Foundation from Noblesville, IN.  This Foundation, founded by Megan S, Ott one month before her passing from the disease, provides immediate personalized assistance to local recipients fighting the day-to-day battle with breast cancer.

Megan’s own words capture the vision and goal of this remarkable organization, “The number one priority of the Megan S. Ott Foundation is to bring as much joy, happiness and laughter into the lives of the families we support.”  We invite you to visit the website https://www.megansottfoundation.org/ to learn more of this story.

A second recipient of our charity funds is the Linda Clemens Breast Cancer Foundation, a non-profit Connecticut organization funded exclusively through private donations and making an impact from various perspectives.  To date, some of the funds collected have been targeted and used for the purchase of an Intact Biopsy Machine, Holiday Sponsorship Program, Care Bags, Mammogram Programs, Compression Garments, In Kind Assistance, Breast Cancer Onco Fertility Fund, and an Echocardiogram Program.

Rounding out our list of organizations received charity funds from Cable Tie Express is the Breast Friends Fund Organization.  Research to truly help find a cure for breast cancer is the focus of this group.  100% of all donations and event proceeds go directly to Metastatic Breast Cancer Research under the direction of Dr. Eric Winer, one of the foremost researchers on Metastatic Breast Cancer in the US and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical Center.  The organization is volunteer run and Craig and Sandy Cassanelli personally fund all operating costs.  Sandy was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2015 and now uses this platform to further research and inspire others.
